I discovered the practice of yoga in my early twenties. My life felt out of focus and needed to get out of my head space and into my body. Amazed at how yoga grounded me, made me feel a strong, steady and at peace with what was happening around me, I made a commitment to the practice and continue to work everyday to re-establish and maintain a better relationship with my body, our planet, and others around me. It helped me to rediscover my spark and tap into both a mental and physical agility that I didn’t know was possible.
I have been teaching for over 10 years. Andrea Boyd and Jeffrey Cohn of Charleston, SC have had an incredible influence for my love of the practice with their teachings of Jivamukti Yoga Philosophy. I continue to be blown away by my many teachers in SF and am inspired by their creativity and fearlessness. I also enjoyed years of practice a the Baptiste Power Yoga Studio
I teach a power yoga class with an emphasis on fun and flexibility that is both playful and spiritual. It will leave you feeling challenged, grounded, inspired and reconnected with gratitude. Truly a “flow” connecting movement with heart – utilizing good music and sacred texts to illuminate aspects of the spiritual journey in a hectic world.
I believe in the connection of music and movement to open the body and to clear the mind. My goal is to put those practicing at ease and encourage them to try new things–to improve their practice, on and off the mat. My sequencing is designed to strengthen and tone the muscles of your body and mind, and is sure to take you to your edge.
My personal yoga practice has grown into passion for the health and welI-being of others and yoga has been the inspiration behind combining nutrition, wellness and aspects of mental health into a holistic practice. I graduated this June 2015 with a Masters in Counseling Psychology at Santa Clara University to become a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, MFT and am a certified nutrition and wellness coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
